Joey Wańczyk is a poet hailing from Indianapolis, Indiana currently living in Eugene, Oregon. He is set to graduate with his M.F.A. in Poetry from the University of Oregon in June 2026.

While at Oregon, Joey studied under Garrett Hongo, Geri Doran, Daniel Anderson, and Matthew Dickman. As an undergraduate student at Indiana University, he studied under Adrian Matejka and Romayne Rubinas Dorsey.

Joey is the founder and editor of Waltz, an online journal of poetry.

His poems have appeared in Meridian, Shō Poetry Journal, Pacifica Literary Review, & Change, The Shore, and Frozen Sea, among others. In 2024, he released a micro-chapbook Catching Brief and Disfigured with Ghost City Press.

He is currently at work on his first manuscript of poems.
